RICE Prioritisation in Nodlin

RICE is a structured framework for prioritising initiatives by scoring them on four dimensions: Reach, Impact, Confidence and Effort. It provides an objective, data-driven approach to deciding what to work on next.

The agent defines three node types:

  • Analysis ๐Ÿ“‹ โ€” The RICE Analysis container for scoring and comparing initiatives
  • Item ๐Ÿ“Š โ€” A single scored initiative with four dimensions: Reach, Impact, Confidence, Effort
  • Chart ๐Ÿ“ˆ โ€” Radar chart visualisation comparing RICE scores across initiatives

How It Works

  • Create an Analysis and describe the decision context
  • Add Items for each initiative or feature under consideration
  • Score each item on Reach, Impact, Confidence and Effort
  • The RICE score is calculated automatically: (Reach ร— Impact ร— Confidence) / Effort
  • View radar charts to compare initiatives visually
  • AI can suggest initial scoring based on context

Benefits

  • Objective Decisions ๐ŸŽฏ โ€” Replaces gut feel with a repeatable scoring model
  • Visual Comparison ๐Ÿ“Š โ€” Bar chart and radar chart SVGs generated for each initiative
  • Collaborative Scoring ๐Ÿค โ€” Teams align on priorities using a shared framework
  • Actionable Ranking ๐Ÿ“‹ โ€” Clear priority order drives focus and resource allocation
