Six Thinking Hats

Six Thinking Hats is Edward de Bono’s structured parallel-thinking framework that separates thinking into six distinct modes. By wearing one hat at a time, a group can explore a topic fully without confusing logic, emotion, creativity and caution in a single discussion.

The agent defines eight node types:

• Session 📋 — The top-level container that creates all six hat categories automatically
• Blue Hat 🔵 — The conductor: problem definition, objectives, planning
• White Hat ⚪ — The scientist: objective facts, data, information gaps
• Red Hat ❤️ — The heart: feelings, intuitions, gut reactions
• Black Hat ⚫ — The judge: risks, dangers, flaws, difficulties
• Yellow Hat 💛 — The optimist: benefits, value, feasibility
• Green Hat 💚 — The artist: alternatives, creative ideas, lateral thinking
