Value Proposition Canvas in Nodlin

The Value Proposition Canvas is a structured framework by Alexander Osterwalder for aligning products with customer needs. It bridges two perspectives: what the customer wants and what the product delivers.

The agent defines seven node types:

  • Canvas ๐Ÿ“‹ โ€” The top-level Value Proposition Canvas container
  • Side ๐Ÿ“ โ€” Customer Side (Benefits, Features, Substitutes) and Product Side (Wants, Needs, Fears)
  • Category ๐Ÿท๏ธ โ€” Each side’s specific categories as listed above
  • Item ๐Ÿ“ โ€” A single entry within a category (one Benefit, Feature, Want, Need, Fear or Substitute)

How It Works

  • Create a Canvas and describe the product and target customer
  • Explore the Customer Side โ€” what do they want, need and fear? What substitutes exist?
  • Define the Product Side โ€” what benefits and features does the product offer?
  • Map alignment between customer needs and product capabilities
  • AI can suggest initial items for both sides

Key Features

  • Multiple Board Views ๐Ÿ“Œ โ€” View items by Category, Sub-Category, Relevance, or Impact
  • Shared Perspectives ๐Ÿ“ โ€” Named layout perspectives are saved and shared with all users in real-time
  • Collaborative ๐Ÿค โ€” Multiple users work on both sides simultaneously
  • AI-Enhanced ๐Ÿค– โ€” Generate initial analysis, then refine as a team
